Earlier in the term Year Six pupils enjoyed an insightful visit to Oundle School’s new and impressive SciTec which houses the senior school’s STEM subjects, science, technology, design, engineering and mathematics. Once there Mrs Richards the resident animal expert in the Biology department explained to our pupils how different animals adapt to their environment. The children were intrigued to watch the changing colour of the School’s chameleon and to see the third (parietal) eye of a bearded dragon. Adding to the show were some baby rats and a pair of colourful treefrogs which scaled the tall wall of windows in the Biology department. A star appearance was made by Mrs McKinnon’s puppy much to the delight of many.

Pupils who found the day particularly of interest attended the Junior Scott Society’s Wildlife Roadshow that was held in the evening.
