We aim to ensure that all our children have the knowledge, skills and qualities to keep themselves healthy and safe, that they are able to make good life choices and that they are well prepared for all that lies ahead of them.

Our PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) programme incorporates the core themes of health and wellbeing, relationships, and living in the wider world. These are the themes we deem of great importance and are at the core of much of our work here at LJS. Lessons are taught weekly by form teachers, with content that is both age-appropriate and comprehensive, often expanding upon specific learning points that emerge from our whole School assembly themes.

Through the safety net of the programme, children can not only explore and understand complex issues but appreciate the importance of contributing positively to their School community and, in time, to the wider communities of which they will be part as they progress through life.

"What I found most beneficial for life after LJS is the confidence which the teachers developed in me, which helped me to become confident about speaking in public situations and communicating to all types of people. This I completely owe to LJS and cannot thank all the teachers and staff enough as it is a trait I will develop and use all my life."
Rufus, Upper Sixth pupil at Oundle School
