The children had a wonderful time last week at Laxton Junior School’s Science Fair. Pupils in year three through to year six were tasked with conducting their own scientific investigations and presenting them to visitors and judges. The children came up with some wonderfully diverse experiments from what vinegar does to an egg to discovering the importance of each ingredient for the perfect cake!
Children from reception, years one and two had an opportunity to display some equally impressive scientific work they had produced in class recently.
The event was a huge success, with many visitors from the School community, as well as family and friends. The judges were wowed by the standard of the work on display and the children’s enthusiasm to share their findings. Prizes were awarded but, as Mr Peck, Head of Science at Oundle School and Chief Judge commented, “All of the projects were super, and the real winner was Science itself”.
