Rugby and Hockey Sports Tour

Last weekend Year Six, and a few lucky Year Five pupils headed out on a Sports Tour to Suffolk to play rugby and hockey at Orwell Park School and Finborough School. The U11A rugby team triumphed against Finborough winning their fixture, and although the other teams’ fixtures were closely fought, demonstrating the development of skills through practice, they were unable to secure further wins. With hard opposition throughout both days the pupils held their own and secured a number of tries and goals.

The tour highlighted how defence training in recent weeks has paid off and that passing technique and overall teamwork has improved considerably. Assistant Head of Sport Miss Rachel Danby said, ‘I am very proud of all of the pupils who took part in the Sports Tour, they consistently played well and displayed resolve that is necessary to succeed at sport.
