On Friday, 5th October, Laxton Junior School hosted the second of its Community Concerts, a fantastic new initiative created by our Head Girl, Olivia, in which the local community is invited into school to enjoy music performed by our children.

We were overwhelmed by the turnout with Oundle residents, members of local care homes and Laxton Junior School families arrived in fantastic numbers for a cup of tea and a good chat before the performances began.

Olivia hosted the Concert, introducing each performer and celebrating each performance with such maturity. The children in Years 5 and 6 produced an enthralling display of music on brass, stringed and percussion instruments, and feedback from the audience was not just how sensational the music was but how confident and polite the children were too. It certainly made for a magical Friday afternoon.

Out next community event is our ‘Sense Sensation’, a broader array of performances encompassing music, drama and presentations; we hope to see our local community on Friday, 6th December at 2.00pm for this spectacular event … there might even be a mince pie or two!
