Just like that the Lent Term has come to an end and what a busy week it has been!
The weather has been simply glorious during this last week of Term and we have taken many lessons outside to make the most of the Spring sunshine. Our Reception families were invited to a Play Partners Parents in Partnership session on Monday, where our staff shared some of their expertise and the adults then joined their children in their play, putting the theory into practice. A large number of our children have taken music exams with the Rockschool and Trinity exam boards, having prepared carefully with the support of Miss Haynes and the individual instrument teachers. Year 1 performed ‘Eddie the Penguin Saves the World’ not once but twice – once to the school and once to their families. You will be most relieved to hear that Eddie was successful in his quest and the children shared lots of hints and tips as to how we can all do our bit to look after our environment. Year 4 have been sharing photos on Twitter and Instagram of their residential trip to York and it looks as if they had a wonderful time. Year 5 took part in some fabulous art activities at Peterborough Cathedral and reflected on their hopes and dreams. Year 3 have been to Flag Fen in Peterborough, as well as competing in Netball House Matches, their brightly coloured House t-shirts singing in the sun. The PFA have been incredibly busy with an Easter Bake Off and sale, a second-hand uniform sale, Mother’s Day gifts to buy, the launch of a postage stamp design event for the upcoming Jubilee. Finally, Whitmore’s cake stall was a roaring success, with an animal theme – pun fully intended! In amongst all of this, normal lessons continued with a whole lot of learning and fun besides!
Whatever you are doing over the Easter break, have fun, and we look forward to seeing you all again in April.
