In February 2026, every child from Laxton Junior School, from the ages of 4 to 11 will have their artwork proudly displayed in the beautiful Yarrow Art Gallery as part of a whole school exhibition celebrating creativity and inclusion.

The exhibition will run from Tuesday 24th February 2026 to Sunday 1st March at Oundle School’s Yarrow Gallery. The Yarrow Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located within the grounds of Oundle School, accessible also to pupils from Laxton Junior School and the general public. The gallery prides itself on being an excellent resource for our pupils and a creative learning space and venue for all, through its exhibitions, talks, workshops and events.

The Yarrow Gallery first opened in 1918 and was funded by Sir Arthur Yarrow in memory of his son, Eric F Yarrow (G 1913), who was killed at Ypres in 1915. Originally, it served as a museum but now allows pupils to gain valuable insight into how a gallery is run, how to curate an exhibition, as well as offering the exciting opportunity of collaboration for public view.

Drawing inspiration from influential artists from around the world—past and present—such as Wassily Kandinsky, Feliciano Centurión, Yayoi Kusama, Vincent van Gogh, Pacita Abad and Emily Kam Kngwarray, the children’s artwork explores global themes through a rich variety of creative approaches.

Alongside individual pieces, visitors will discover collaborative projects spanning multiple year groups, including textiles, mixed‑media works and an ambitious whole‑school installation. The exhibition showcases a wide range of artistic techniques and highlights how pupils have thoughtfully interpreted and reimagined the styles and ideas of these celebrated artists.

Titled Around the World with 18 Artists, the exhibition playfully nods to Around the World in 80 Days, inviting audiences on a vibrant, artistic journey spanning cultures and continents.
