Our U11 girls produced an outstanding performance at the IAPS Hockey Tournament, remaining unbeaten throughout the morning and demonstrating excellent skill, determination and teamwork against strong opposition.

The girls navigated a challenging pool stage with impressive results against The Perse, Stephen Perse, Beeston Hall, Swanbourne House, Culford and Leicester Grammar School, finishing the morning unbeaten and securing their place in the Cup quarter-finals.

In the knockout stages, they faced  Spratton Hall in a closely contested quarter-final. Neither side could be separated in normal time, resulting in a dramatic penalty shuffle competition. With the scores still level after the initial shuffles, the match progressed to sudden death. Despite a courageous effort, the girls were narrowly defeated.

While the result brought their cup run to an end, the team can be immensely proud of their achievements. To remain unbeaten throughout the group stages at such a prestigious tournament is testament to their hard work, resilience and commitment. Throughout the day, the girls displayed excellent hockey, supported one another brilliantly and showed tremendous team spirit both on and off the pitch.

A huge thank you goes to Oakham School for h

osting such a well-organised and enjoyable event.

Congratulations to all the girls on a fantastic tournament and for representing the school with such distinction. Their attitude, sportsmanship and determination were a credit to the school from start to finish.
