Our U11 boys enjoyed a fantastic day of rugby at the IAPS Rugby Festival, hosted by Oundle School, where they demonstrated excellent skill, determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Playing six short matches of ten minutes each, the boys embraced the opportunity to test themselves against a variety of opponents. Their efforts were rewarded with an impressive record of five wins and just one defeat across the day, reflecting both their growing confidence and developing understanding of the game.
The festival provided a wonderful environment for the players to put into practice the core RFU TREDS values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. These values were evident throughout the day, not only in the way the boys played, but also in how they supported one another and represented the school.
A particular highlight of the festival was the opportunity for the boys to benefit from the expertise of rugby coaches from both Laxton Junior School and Oundle School. Working with coaches from across the Foundation allowed the players to develop their skills, gain new insights and grow in confidence as the day progressed.
Beyond the results, the festival was a valuable learning experience, giving the boys the chance to challenge themselves, build resilience and enjoy playing rugby in a positive and supportive environment.
Well done to all the boys for their excellent performances and for embodying the spirit of the game so impressively throughout the day. We are also grateful to Oundle School for hosting such an enjoyable and well-organised festival.
