Wrap Around Care

We are committed to supporting busy working parents by providing a comprehensive wraparound care programme. During term time, families can choose from a wide range of after‑school clubs, running daily until 5:00pm. Alongside these, our Griffin Club offers three flexible sessions between the hours of 7:30am and 6:00pm  to suit different childcare needs.

Beyond term time, we also offer a varied programme of activity‑led clubs throughout the school holidays, making use of the Oundle School facilities, giving parents additional high‑quality childcare options all year round.

The Griffin Club

Griffin Club offers an in-house before and after school childcare facility for all Laxton Junior School children, from 7.30am right through to 6pm. Run by LJS staff, the Griffin Club provides a caring and happy environment for children of all ages, from Reception right through to Year 6.

During Griffin Club, activities are set up that enable children to continue their learning, engage with friends and staff, have fun or simply wind down after a busy day at School. Children are welcome to complete homework independently whilst at Griffin Club.

We run four different sessions within our Griffin Club:

• Griffin Breakfast Club runs from 7.30am until 8.15am and includes a healthy breakfast.
• Early Griffin Club runs from 3.45pm to 5.00pm which includes a healthy snack.
• Late Griffin Club runs from end of clubs until 6.00pm. This session includes a hot supper, which is based on a three-week menu cycle, ensuring families do not have to worry about dinner when they return home.
• For pupils in Year 4-6 we run Griffin Prep Club from 3.45pm until 6.00pm. Pupils will start in a classroom, after a snack they will have time to do independent prep work, supervised by an adult. Later they join the Late Griffin Club for a hot supper and time to have fun and wind down before they head home.
