Our Year 6 children were treated to an incredible experience yesterday as we welcomed acclaimed theatre professional Claire Cassidy to lead a special character workshop as part of our Matilda Jnr rehearsals.

Claire Cassidy has directed and choreographed productions across the UK and continues to work as a casting associate for major West End shows. During the workshop, she shared her expertise and industry knowledge with our young performers, helping them to develop their characters, stage presence and confidence. The children gained so much from the session and are excited to bring these new skills into the next stage of rehearsals.

Next week, rehearsals move into our very own historic Stahl Theatre as preparations continue for opening night on Friday 15th May.

The Stahl Theatre has been at the heart of performance and the arts within our school community for many years. Originally opened in 1980 following the generous support of the Stahl family, the theatre has become a much-loved venue for school productions, concerts and community events. Generations of pupils have performed on its stage, making it a very special place for young performers to grow in confidence and creativity.

A huge thank you goes to Mrs Hamilton-Charlton, our Head of Drama, and Miss Haynes, our Head of Music, who are working tirelessly with our Year 6 children to make this another outstanding production from LJS.

We cannot wait to see the cast take to the stage for their performances in May.
