Our Year 6 pupils recently enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at Boughton House as part of the OPEN Learning Partnership (OPEN LP) programme.
Hosted by Kettering Buccleuch Academy, the event brought together Year 6 children from schools across the partnership, providing an excellent opportunity to meet new friends, work collaboratively and take part in a range of enriching activities.
During the visit, pupils took part in a guided walk around the stunning grounds of Boughton House, learning about the history and heritage of this impressive local landmark. The afternoon also included a variety of team-building challenges designed to encourage communication, problem-solving and cooperation between children from different schools.
The event highlighted the many benefits of the OPEN Learning Partnership, which was established in 2018. As a founding member of the Oundle, Peterborough and East Northants (OPEN) Learning Partnership, our school works alongside Oundle School, Thomas Deacon Academy, Kettering Buccleuch Academy, Prince William School and Oundle CE Primary School to create exciting opportunities for children and staff.
The partnership aims to increase opportunities for all pupils while promoting the sharing of best practice between schools. Through a wide range of workshops, whole-day events, inter-school competitions and enrichment activities, OPEN has already enhanced access to the arts, sport, STEM subjects, modern languages, environmental projects and academic learning.
The visit to Boughton House was another excellent example of how the partnership brings children together for the mutual benefit of all. Our Year 6 pupils represented the school brilliantly, demonstrating enthusiasm, teamwork and respect throughout the afternoon. We are grateful to Kettering Buccleuch Academy and the OPEN Learning Partnership for organising such an enjoyable and memorable experience.
