Our talented Year 6 pupils wowed audiences with their spectacular production of Matilda Junior the Musical, performed in the beautiful setting of our own performing arts centre, The Stahl Theatre. Across three performances, the children brought Roald Dahl’s much-loved story to life with energy and confidence leaving audiences thoroughly entertained and immensely proud.

From the moment the curtain rose, it was clear just how much dedication and hard work had gone into the production. The cast delivered fantastic acting, singing and choreography, capturing the humour and heart of the story. Each child embraced their role with enthusiasm, whether taking centre stage or supporting from the ensemble, showcasing the wonderful teamwork that underpinned the entire show.

We would also like to acknowledge the dedication of our teaching staff, Mrs Rachel Hamilton-Charlton, Miss Nina Haynes and Mrs Tessa Humprhrey, whose commitment and passion guided the children every step of the way. From rehearsals to the final performance, their hard work ensured that every detail was thoughtfully prepared, enabling the children to shine with confidence on stage.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our parents and carers who generously contributed their time to support in preparing the props at one of our Parent in Partnership events.

Performing in the Stahl Theatre provided a truly special experience for our pupils. The professional setting added to the excitement and gave the children a memorable opportunity to perform in a real theatre environment, helping to boost their confidence and create lasting memories. In addition, we welcomed two highly experienced drama coaches to work with the children on their characterisation and stage presence. Many thanks to Lucy McKenzie and Claire Cassidy for taking time out from the West End to support our pupils.

Most importantly, we are incredibly proud of our Year 6 pupils. Their enthusiasm and talent were evident throughout the entire process and they should all be congratulated on such a fantastic achievement. Matilda Junior the Musical was not only a wonderful performance but also a celebration of creativity, collaboration and the joy of learning.

Well done, Year 6 you were absolutely brilliant!
