Pupils normally join the School in our Reception classes although we are happy to accept pupils into any Year group throughout the academic year if a place is available. We have a two form entry with an optimum class size of 20 pupils per class, 40 per year group.
We are non-selective in our Reception classes, so the first 40 children registered are guaranteed to be offered a place. We do, however, reserve the right to withdraw this offer if it becomes apparent that there are behavioural difficulties that we were not made aware of at the time the offer of a place was accepted.
If entry is required after Reception class, we ask that a child visits for two days. During this time the children will be with their potential Year group and undertake some assessments, or puzzle books in our younger years. Please be advised that there is not a pass or fail mark for – our aim is for each child to feel at ease and enjoy their time with us.
We aim to ensure that all of the information that we are able to collate during your child’s visit will enable him or her to be happy and confident in joining his or her peers. If you would like your child to join the School in the latter part of Key stage Two, Years Five and Six for example, then this assessment data is also extremely useful when looking at potential senior school options.
If the year group is already at our optimum class size, we do hold a waiting list. It costs £20 to add your child’s name to any waiting list and, whilst there is no guarantee that a place will become available, we do keep the lines of communication open and update those families on the waiting list as and when there is any potential movement.
To register your child’s interest, please download a registration form and return it with the payment of £125. It is advisable to call or email Ms Taylor first, to ensure there is still availability in the required year group.
