Pastoral » Discipline
In addition to being awarded House Points, children are praised regularly for effort, good work or behaviour. This engenders a positive attitude amongst staff and pupils alike. We are looking for the good, not seeking to highlight the negative.
To this end, we do not have a negative house point system. Misdemeanours are dealt with immediately by Form Tutors. Pupils will be spoken to and are given help to correct unacceptable behaviour or attitudes.
In some cases, pupils will miss part of their playtime. In serious cases, the Deputy Head or Head may become involved. Parents will be informed if it is deemed necessary; this may be via the Diary that each child has, through an informal chat after school or by letter or email depending on the seriousness of the situation. The School has a comprehensive Discipline and Behaviour policy.
