Our pupils are encouraged to pursue a wide range of hobbies and clubs outside of timetabled lessons.

The staff are supported by parents and outside agencies in the provision of extra-curricular activities. At present, the following are on offer during the course of the year: Dance, photography, rowing, flower arranging, karate, chess, model making, fabric fun, board games, school newspaper, cricket, basketball, netball, cookery.

The Infants produce a Nativity play every Christmas and our Form 6 children present a major dramatic production in their final term. There is ample opportunity for other year groups to perform during assemblies throughout the year. In 2008, an annual Arts’ Week was introduced. This takes place during the Easter Quarter when the normal weekly timetable is replaced by a programme of events and activities based on a central theme.

The child who gains the most from what LJS has to offer is the one who has a go at everything and throws themselves into each and every opportunity with enthusiasm.
