“At all ages and for all abilities, pupils show outstanding learning and achieve excellent standards in all areas of the curriculum.” ISI Report 2008
The curriculum at LJS is based on the National Curriculum guidelines. This allows us to keep abreast of educational trends whilst still benefiting from a more formal and traditional approach.
The children experience a wide range of timetabled lessons appropriate to their age. Specialist teaching is a strength, although we also acknowledge that, for younger pupils, it is more appropriate for them to spend the majority of their time with their individual Form Teacher. As pupils progress through the School, more time is spent with specialist teachers giving the children the opportunity to experience various teaching styles and personalities thus preparing them fully for a move to senior school where this will be the norm.
Learning at LJS revolves around a broad and well-balanced curriculum. The children are given the opportunity to explore: Humanities, Modern Foreign Languages, Art, Drama and Music, in addition to the core subject areas of Mathematics, English, Science and Information and Communications Technology.
